Guidelines for Authors

1. General Requirements

  • Article length: 4,000–8,000 words

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

  • Page size: A4

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1 pt

  • Paragraph indent: 0.8 cm

  • Alignment: Justified

  • Page numbering: bottom right

2. Article Structure

  1. Title — 14 pt, bold, centered; provided in Kazakh, Russian, and English

  2. Author(s): full name(s), academic degree and title, affiliation, country, ORCID, e-mail (no more than 5 authors)

  3. Abstract: 200–250 words; in Kazakh, Russian, and English

  4. Keywords: 5 words; in all three languages

  5. Main text:
    — Introduction
    — Method (Materials and Methods)
    — Results and Discussion
    — Conclusion

  6. Acknowledgements — if applicable

  7. Funding statement

  8. Conflict of Interest

  9. Author Contributions

  10. Data Availability

  11. References — APA 7 style

3. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: numbered; title above (e.g., Table 1 — Research Results)

  • Figures: numbered; caption below (e.g., Figure 1 — Semantic Correspondence of Sounds)

  • Formats: figures in JPEG/PNG (minimum 300 dpi); tables embedded in Word

  • Placement: as close as possible to first mention in the text

  • Cross-referencing: every table and figure must be cited in the text

4. References (APA 7)

  • In-text citations: (Author, year) — e.g., (Sapir, 1929); (Khusainov, 1988).

  • Direct quotations:
    — Short (up to 40 words): “...text...” (Author, year, p. 45).
    — Long (over 40 words): a separate indented paragraph without quotation marks

  • Minimum sources: at least 25; must include at least 5 Scopus/WoS articles from the last 5 years

  • Order: alphabetical

  • Kazakh- and Russian-language sources: provide transliteration and an English translation in brackets

5. Research Ethics

  • Originality: the manuscript must not have been published previously or be under consideration elsewhere

  • Plagiarism check: performed via an StrikePlagiarism system

  • Ethical approval: for human-subject research, obtain ethics committee approval and/or informed consent as applicable
