Editorial Policy

The international peer-reviewed scientific journal “Actual Problems of the Present” (ISSN 2312–4784) operates on the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and scientific objectivity.

Its editorial policy is aimed at ensuring the quality, reliability, and ethical compliance of all published research materials.

The editorial board adheres to the following core principles:

  • prevention of plagiarism and data fabrication;
  • respect for copyright and intellectual property;
  • avoidance of conflicts of interest;
  • fairness and impartiality in peer review.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a two-stage evaluation procedure:

  1. Preliminary technical review – assessment of thematic relevance, structure, and formatting compliance; originality is verified using Antiplagiarism or StrikePlagiarism systems.
  2. Scientific peer review – the paper is sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

The journal uses a double-blind peer review system, where neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other’s identities.

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board decides whether to:

  • accept the paper for publication;
  • request revision;
  • reject the paper.

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity

The journal strictly follows international standards to prevent plagiarism.

  • Manuscripts containing plagiarism or self-plagiarism are automatically rejected.
  • All borrowed materials must be properly cited and referenced.
  • Each co-author is equally responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of the research results.

Conflict of Interest

Any potential conflict of interest between authors, reviewers, or editorial members must be disclosed to the editorial office.

In such cases, the editorial board ensures impartiality by appointing an alternative reviewer or taking other necessary measures.

Editorial Decisions

Editorial decisions are based on the reviewers’ feedback and the scientific merit of the work.

Authors receive an official notification about acceptance, revision, or rejection, including reviewers’ comments.

Although the editorial decision is final, authors may request reconsideration with proper justification.

Publication Ethics

The journal adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Key principles include:

  • accuracy and reliability of presented research results;
  • prohibition of simultaneous submission to multiple journals;
  • confidentiality during peer review;
  • professional respect and proper citation practices;
  • independence of editorial and reviewer opinions.

Transparency and Open Access

The journal promotes open scientific communication and bears full responsibility for the quality of published content.

Each article receives a unique DOI identifier and is made freely available under the Open Access model.

The journal guarantees equal publication opportunities regardless of country, language, or institutional affiliation.

Languages and Frequency

The journal is published four times a year.
